Paving crews working with the S2100 and S2100-2 asphalt pavers can now source the grade control sensor as a stocked spare: the APOLLO VGL-3L ultrasonic sensor, part number 2567579 (also listed as 2527049), is available for single piece orders.

The first question on most inquiries is which part number to quote. Both 2567579 and 2527049 refer to the same green-body VGL-3L unit; APOLLO documentation and machine parts lists have used both numbers across production periods. When ordering, simply quote the number printed on the existing sensor or on the machine's parts list, and the unit supplied will be the current VGL-3L build.
The VGL-3L is a non-contact sensor. It does not ride the fresh mat; it scans a reference - a tensioned stringline, the edge of the adjacent lane, or a kerb - and reports distance and angle to the paver control system. The control unit compares that reading with the target and commands the hydraulic valve to raise or lower the screed, keeping thickness and slope inside tolerance.
Because nothing drags on the surface, the sensor is not affected by the temperature of the mix or by the texture of the mat behind the screed. The practical effect is a more consistent profile over long runs, fewer manual corrections from the operator platform, and less asphalt used to compensate for a drifting grade.

Grade problems on site rarely look electrical. They look like behaviour: a mat that climbs or falls in one direction over a long pass, corrections that keep running the same way, or readings that freeze at a constant value. Before removing hydraulic components, a service team should verify the reference setup and the sensor itself, because the sensor sits at the front of the loop and every later correction is based on its number.
The sensor is packed in a carton or box with protective packing for export. Minimum order quantity is one piece, which suits a single repair as well as stock replenishment for a service fleet. Payment terms include L/C, T/T and Western Union, and delivery is normally seven to ten days after payment.
Please confirm the machine model (S2100 or S2100-2) together with the part number when inquiring. Photographs of the original sensor, including the label and connector, are welcome and will be checked against stock before shipment.
