The APOLLO 2035986 / 2562911 screed heating rod, cross-referenced to PN 535-8875, is now held in stock as a replacement element for the main right and extend right positions on AB500-2 and AB500-3 asphalt paver screeds. It is a one-piece direct fit part, supplied from Japan with no adaptor or wiring change required.

A heating rod rarely fails at a convenient moment. It burns out overnight, or loses output gradually until the operator notices the mat tearing along one side of the screed. Either way the symptom looks like a paving problem - drag marks, open texture, density falling away on one section - when the actual cause is a cold plate on the main right or extend right element.

Why a cold screed plate shows up in the mat

The screed plate has to be at working temperature before the first load is tipped and has to stay there through the pull. When one rod stops producing heat, the plate runs cold on that section, asphalt stiffens against it, and the material drags instead of flowing under the trailing edge. Rolling cannot close the defect afterwards, because the problem is placed into the mat before the roller ever arrives.

5. Power up and verify heat distribution across the plate before paving resumes.
