Product Description
Leveling Sensor 14317390 TYP11 - 6-Pin Screw Thread Mounted

Grade and slope control sensor for asphalt pavers, supplied as a TYP11 threaded-barrel unit with a 6-pin electrical connector - the part that reads screed position and feeds the automatic height correction loop.

Part Number: 14317390 | Type: TYP11 (Typ 11)

Connector: 6-pin | Mounting: Screw thread barrel

Fits: Asphalt paver screed leveling systems

MOQ: 1 piece | Price: USD 695 per pc | Lead Time: 1-2 weeks

On an asphalt paver the leveling sensor is the feedback device in the automatic grade control loop. It measures the vertical distance from the sensor to a reference - a grade line, a stringline, or the existing surface - and passes that value to the control console, which adjusts the screed hydraulics to hold mat thickness and cross-slope.

When the sensor output drifts, the failure does not look electrical. It looks like the screed slowly climbing or dropping over the length of a pull, a mat that measures correct at the start and thin at the end, or a transverse joint that needs rework. Replacing the sensor is usually cheaper than reworking a lane.

Why The TYP11 Housing Matters
  • Threaded barrel mounting - the TYP11 designation refers to the standard threaded housing, which screws directly onto the paver mast or sensor arm and holds alignment under constant vibration.
  • Sealed against site conditions - the housing keeps paving dust, humidity and wash-down water away from the electronics, which is where intermittent faults normally start.
  • Repeatable readings - non-contact sensing keeps the same measured distance for the same physical gap, so the control loop is not chasing noise.
6-Pin Interface

The 6-pin connector carries the supply, ground, signal output and diagnostic lines in one plug. Because it is a standard interface rather than a machine-specific harness, the sensor can be fitted to paver control systems that use the same 6-pin leveling convention, without rewiring the mast.

Symptoms Of A Failing Sensor
  • Mat thickness wanders along a pull even though the reference has not changed
  • Cross-slope readings drift, or the screed needs constant manual correction
  • Console shows sensor errors or the reading jumps without any physical movement
  • Moisture or dust inside the connector causes intermittent drop-outs after wash-down
  • Impact damage or a bent barrel means the sensor no longer sits square in the mast
Fitting And Checks
  1. Switch off the paver and isolate the control circuit before unplugging the sensor.
  2. Unthread the old sensor from the mast, clean the thread and check that the new barrel seats fully and square.
  3. Inspect the 6-pin plug and socket for corrosion, bent pins or moisture before connecting.
  4. Route the cable clear of hot surfaces and moving linkages so it cannot be pulled taut.
  5. Power up and verify the console reading against a known reference before paving.
  6. Check grade and slope over a short test pull before committing to a full lane.
Supply

Sensors ship from stock at a minimum order of one piece, packed in carton or box, dispatched 1-2 weeks after payment and payable by L/C or T/T. Monthly capacity is 1000 pieces.

Send the machine model, the control system in use and a photograph of the existing sensor and connector and the parts team will confirm the interface before shipment.
