Our paver parts range has a new stock item: the non-contact ultrasonic grade sensor referenced to 372-0971, covering AP655F and AP355F tracked pavers. It is the height measuring element in the screed grade control loop, supplied as a direct bolt-on replacement so a failed or drifting probe can be swapped in the yard instead of waiting on a dealer order.
Older grade control relied on a mechanical ski riding the reference surface. A ski works, until it does not. It picks up tack coat and loose aggregate, it bends on site, and it stalls on joints and manhole covers. Every one of those events pushes an error straight into the screed, and the mat shows it as a wave or a thickness step that the roller cannot take out.
An ultrasonic probe reads the surface from above. There is nothing to drag, nothing to scrape clean at every joint, and no wear surface to replace. That is the practical difference: a measurement that stays repeatable for the whole shift, including over milled surfaces.

The first visible change is smoothness. With a sensor that reads true, the console holds thickness through the pass, and the screed stops making the small corrections that show up as a wave behind the paver. The second change is cost: accurate thickness control keeps the job inside specification, so there is less over-thick placement to pay for and less under-thick rework to answer for.
For a fleet running several pavers, this is also a sensible spare to hold. The sensor is small, the swap is quick, and a grade control failure otherwise means a machine sitting idle while a replacement is sourced.
Please send three details with your enquiry: the machine model and serial range, the reference number from the failed sensor, and the connector type on the existing harness. With those we confirm the matching unit, current stock level and freight cost to your nearest port.
The sensor is available now in single units and in fleet quantities, with volume pricing from ten pieces. For datasheets, wiring details or a quotation against your machine list, contact our parts desk and quote reference number 372-0971.
