A complete milling drum assembly for the WR240i road milling and cold recycling machine is now available as a stock replacement item, covering part numbers 2285592 under the FB2400 drum family. The unit arrives as a finished assembly: steel drum body, welded tool holder blocks and tungsten carbide picks, ready to bolt onto the rotor hub.
The announcement targets a practical problem in road maintenance fleets. When a drum reaches the end of its wear life, buying the body, holders and picks as separate line items usually stretches the repair over weeks, and assembly quality depends on whoever does the welding. A complete, balanced assembly removes both variables from the repair window.

A worn drum announces itself through symptoms that operators often attribute to other components. Vibration rises, fuel consumption climbs, cutting depth drifts and the milled surface becomes rougher, forcing the paving crew to lay a thicker leveling course. In most cases the cause is a drum that has lost pick sharpness and balance, with holder bores worn oval so picks no longer rotate freely.
Fitting a new balanced assembly restores the cutting loop in one step. Depth control and cross-slope follow the machine's own automation without recalibration, so the first pass after installation already produces a consistent profile. Milled surface quality also lets the overlay be laid closer to nominal thickness.
The drum is used for full-depth and partial-depth milling of asphalt pavements, surface profiling before overlay, and cold recycling of bound base layers. It suits road maintenance contractors, rental fleets and municipal road departments that run high annual milling hours and measure performance in cost per square metre rather than parts price.
Support the drum, release the drive-side coupling and bearing housing bolts, withdraw the worn assembly and clean the mounting faces before fitting the new drum. Tighten to the machine manufacturer's torque values, check rotor end play and confirm free rotation by hand before start-up.
For the first hours, run at moderate advance speed and monitor vibration, pick retention and cutting depth consistency. Re-torque the mounting bolts after the first shift, then check pick rotation weekly. Replacing individual picks as soon as the carbide tip wears flat, and inspecting holder bores at every pick change, is the cheapest way to protect the drum body.
The assembly is shipped on a seaworthy export pallet with steel strapping, rust-proof coating on machined faces and protective caps on bearing areas. Minimum order quantity is one piece; delivery is 5 to 8 weeks after payment confirmation depending on the production schedule, with stock availability confirmed on request. Payment terms include T/T and L/C.
Contractors and spare parts distributors can request pricing, lead time and freight cost by sending machine serial number, quantity and destination port. Quotations are confirmed within the same working day, with technical support available for installation and pick selection.
